When I build Qt in release mode before moving the files:

$ size libQtCore.so.5.0.0
text		data 		bss 	dec 		hex 		filename
3543451 74688 	5080 3623219 	374933 	libQtCore.so.5.0.0

And after compiling them into QtCore:

$ size libQtCore.so.5.0.0
text			data     	bss     	dec     	hex 		filename
3714394   	78272    	5080 			3797746  	39f2f2 	libQtCore.so.5.0.0
