Hi,

_State of Qt 5.0.0 beta 2_
Here is an overview of the top issues that the releasing team is following. If you see that there are issues that needs to be handled for Qt 5.0.0, that is not covered here. Please let us know

_Ensuring that everything is handled_
The list of items that needs to be fixed for Qt 5 beta 2 should be found at https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-27319. This list is currently very short. Please help us by ensuring that all issues that needs to be handled/fixed for Qt 5 beta 2 is marked as required for QTBUG-27319.

If here is a need for discussion on the issues, this can be done on releasing at qt-project.org or irc (#qt-releases on Freenode).

*Documentation*
The documentation effort is ramping up. We are currently making a structure for the new documentation. That structure will be used to help us understand what needs to be done, in digestible chunks. When this work is done, we will try and make a large scale effort in fixing up the documentation, involving the community to a large extent. We hope to have the structure done in a week or two.

 *Qt Creator*
As mentioned last week, we plan to have Qt Creator running on Qt 5. At the same time we are working hard to release Qt Creator 2.6 running on Qt 4.8.

Status:
- String freeze started yesterday
- Error situation: P0: 0. P1: 12, Need More Info: 9

In the weeks to come we need to get the following tasks done:
- Polishing UI and documentation
- "Kits" usability/upgradability

Qt bugs that needs to be fixed for Qt Creator to work on Qt 5, can be found on: https://bugreports.qt-project.org/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&jqlQuery=labels+%3D+Creator_Qt5

 *Installer scripts*
Inital versions of the Qt 5 beta 2 installers are getting ready, and brave souls are welcome to test the packages at: http://origin.releases.qt-project.org/digia/

This week we hope to resolve the following issues:
- bundling ICU libraries into Linux installers
- working on qtsdk.git structure to be the base for installers (Before this is done, Qt Creator (in the installers) is based on Qt 4.8.2)
- few fixes into qt5 source that affect packaging
- fixing and fine-tuning beta2 installers and CI system

*Bug situation*
Total number of unresolved bugs affecting Qt 5: 811 (prev. report: 816)
Link to filter: https://bugreports.qt-project.org/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?mode=hide&requestId=13521

Blockers (P0): 2 (< 1%), prev. report: 3
Criticals (P1): 50 (9%), prev. report: 35
Important (P2): 230 (45%), last report: 201

Number of unevaluated bugs affecting Qt 5: 226 (28%) (prev. report: 306)
Link to dashboard: https://bugreports.qt-project.org/secure/Dashboard.jspa?selectPageId=11712

The list of items that must be fixed before releasing Qt 5 beta 2 will be found on https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-27319. Please help us in making sure this list is up to date.

The number of bugs prioritized to be critical (P1) or important (P2) has increased as a result of evaluation & triaging efforts. We are starting to have a clearer picture of things that need to be fixed, thanks for those involved! Some work is still needed to evaluate the remaining >200 bugs in the backlog (see dashboard above), so that's what we'll continue to focus on.

_Cross posting_
When the weekly status email only contains releasing information, it will only be posted to releasing at qt-project.org. When there is information to or a need for actions from a broader audience, I hope you can accept that I cross post this email.

Best regards,
Sinan S. Tanilkan
on behalf of the Qt 5 releasing team
