This does indeed look like a nasty bug. However, it has been present in 
several versions of Qt already, and it has only recently been reported. This 
means that Qt 5.1.0 will still be useful to a large number of people even with 
this bug.

As far as I can see, there is no fix proposed for this bug, and according to 
the bugtracker, no-one is even working on it. Stopping the release process at 
this point (a couple of days before the release) for an indeterminate time, 
possibly postponing the release until September, seems disproportionate.

There will be a 5.1.1 release in not too long, and if there is a fix by that 
time it will be included in that release.
