Contacting the list doesn't help.

Contacting the list owner does (cc'ed).

Probably the spammer subscribed an email harvesting service to the list. 
Anyone is allowed to subscribe, we can't prevent that. But the sysadmins can 
unsubscribe and ban the harvester, if they can find it.
