A brief inquiry with commercial support suggests that there is a higher 
probability people using RHEL out of the box instead of customizing the 
compiler by installing packages on top. That makes me think we're probably 
better off building with the compiler that comes with the system, in order to
build and test something that is closer to what people are using.
