I haven't tested but there's a script in the chromium repository that
patches the build recipes to use external libraries. You can find more
details about this in
qtwebengine/src/3rdparty/chromium/build/linux/unbundle/README.

I'd be interested to know if you manage to build qtwebengine with this
setup.
