Without cgit it does not work for https last time i tried. See my mail from 31.03.2015 12:18 

My problem was different as it was due to a interrupted transfer as i know now,
i could fix that with the help of http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10671638/how-to-fix-git-repository-broken-by-interrupted-git-fetch
by deleting offending *.pack.temp in .git/objects/pack and corresponding idx file.
Now it works again ( with cgit )
