Not for the common mortal:

- True SmartTV just barely broke the ice in Europe but wait until it 
will be ported to giant screens in Las Vegas and your website lags; it 
will look unprofessional.

- Popular cell phones apps also do not use extensive animations.  I 
believe they intentionally avoid the problem by not using it.
