Thank you for your replies and explanations!

I quite like the new sidebar where you can access everything quite easily.
The font color/weight changes probably will take some time before I will get 
used it to it,  first impression was that it feels a bit off (probably because 
it's just different from what I was looking at for years).

Clicking a bit around I noticed that the sidebar is a bit weird for
Qt Wayland Client containing and empty item in the tree and doing
some weird layout when expanding.
