Hi!
We are preparing to move the Qt Wayland QPA plugin into Qt Base where the other QPA plugins also live. This is required for us to run autotests on Wayland-based platforms, and it reflects that Wayland is becoming one of the standard display server architectures on Linux desktop.
Overview and stack here: https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtbase/+/626103/21
To avoid inconsistent states, we will lock down Qt Wayland for a period of time while the migration is going through. We will do this once the patches have been reviewed and given the thumbs up by the maintainer (David Edmundson), and aim to make the freeze as short as possible.
This might mean some changes might have to be retargeted to Qt Base if they are currently in review in Qt Wayland and do not get merged before the freeze. Sorry for the inconvenience!
