This is a very good plan IMO, I would add:

3a) Change license (if BSD, it seems possible to integrate MIT code too, 
with proper copyright attribution)
3b) Rename to qt5.natvis and qt6.natvis (without the namespaces, it's 
possible to use them as is, and will make development/contributions even 
easier)
