[Interest] memory validator

Have you tried qt creator's support for valgrind? I seem to recall it comes with a suppression file to remove some false positives.

I've used in in the past. It does report some memory loss, but as far
as I remember, none of those were reported as certain losses. It might
still be worth investigating, though.
