I've ported two major commercial products from Windows to Mac in the last two years, both of which were designed to be cross platform with Qt. 

The Mac ports were a PITA because a lot of stuff simply doesn't work as documented - there are bugs with stylesheets, bugs with widget layouts, bugs with networking, bugs with webkit (ironic!), bugs with graphics view and bugs with events. Until very recently, you couldn't use half the system fonts from Qt on Mac.

But I also work as a Windows Qt developer and for the most part, Qt just works as it's documented. The only real problems I've run into with Qt on Windows is touch/tablet support and printing. 

So no, there are no assumptions about greener grass here. I use Qt on a daily basis on both platforms 50/50 and Mac/Qt is definitely the poor relation.
