You cannot overlay the docks and other fixtures on some systems, unless you ask 
to be placed on top of them. showMaximized doesn't ask, showFullscreen does.

If you're going to show maximised or fullscreen, you shouldn't setGeometry, 
since the geometry is already known by the windowing system.
