I wasn't /seriously/ suggesting to use a char * buffer: I proposed OpenCL which you silently ignored. By the way: a byte buffer is *not* necessarily a "quick and dirty" way to store raw pixel data for further computation (but you would know that if you were proficient in image processing).

I was merely mocking a little bit your refusal to provide any additional information about what/how you're exactly trying to do with that image.

Again, what do I care about some Foo library that you are trying to use. If you want help, you have at least to tell us in what container (QPixmap, QImage, non-Qt class, ...) that library actually expects the data. But your statement about "releasing it" now actually makes me think that /you/ are the author of that library? Again, you failed to tell us whether you have or have not control over the code which does the actual processing.

And your "Meh! Qt doesn't even support the [enter any random feature/format]!"-attidude didn't exactly help either...
