Hi Jason,
Voted for it.

Used assets: added images to assets in Xcode and copied it back to my Qt-project
to be set on creating project.

In pro:

#iPhone - Icons and Launch Images
ASSETS_CATALOGS.files = $$files($$PWD/*.xcassets)

QMAKE_BUNDLE_DATA += ASSETS_CATALOGS

Sorry for not opening this issue half-a-year ago,
but there are too much iOS issues opened by me.
