Yes it is based on a 3 years newer branch of WebKit than the old deprecated 
QtWebKit branch, the version number is because the version is comparative to 
WebKitGTK 2.12, and because the version has been decoupled from Qt releases. 
If we had had the new branch ready in time we never have made a 5.9 branch of 
qtwebkit let alone 5.9.x source packages, but we got started to late and 2.212 
only came about around the same time 5.9.0 was released
