This isn't a counterargument to "Electron apps do not follow the native 
style, yet they do exist (and some are quite popular) on the desktop". I 
am not judging the quality of Electron itself.

This IIRC is what is being done by the QQC2 native style plugin that has 
been linked earlier in the thread.

About touching QStyle code, I simply don't see it happen without 
justifying the super-massive investment required. In other words, IMHO, 
there isn't enough demand for native QQC2 styles to justify it.
