More to the point: build Qt with the *same* ICU. Preferably, the system-wide 
one.

>From the error message you pasted, it looks like Matlab did something to their 
ICU 56, since it has a symbol that the the Qt one doesn't. I don't have ICU 56 
to confirm whether that's a standard symbol or not, but both 58.2 and 60 do 
have the equivalent.
