I don't get an error message, but the "retrieving information" bar moves 
very, very, very slowly. It seems it has been happening often recently.

If I quit the maintenance tool because it would take too long to wait 
for the bar to fill, the tool seems to close but in reality it leaves a 
process behind that eats 100% CPU.
