did you follow the tips in 
https://www.qt.io/blog/expanded-client-areas-and-safe-areas-in-qt-6.9 ?

from discussions at https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-135808 Android 
and SafeAreas should work with 6.9.2

have to test this by myself thursday or friday and will report. and 
provide a test app I'm just working on
