For a while I've been translating the Qt strings that are made available through KDE's localization framework, but there's now talk that those will be removed and we should translate Qt directly, "upstream". I've read this page http://qt.gitorious.org/qt/pages/QtLocalization A few questions: (1) can someone confirm there's no one else working on my language already? (2) if I do complete the translations will they definitely be integrated into Qt's source? (3) where is the copyright form I need to submit before contributing? As with other languages, I will re-use the translations that I've already done for KDE, contained at kdeqt.po. I have already done: git clone git config user.name git config user.email git config commit.template as explained at http://qt.gitorious.org/qt/pages/GitIntroductionWithQt Now, as I'm working on branch * 4.7 I should run "make ts-gl" or "make ts-gl_ES" being at qt/ , nevertheless, nothing happens (no target for make). Please, advice a solution. If possible, just create the files for me to edit them. That way, just the git commands and a ./configure --l10n-only would do the job. Concerning instructions at QlLocalization: please note that lconvert can also convert to/from xliff, the other file format Lokalize handles: for file in `ls *_targetlanguage.ts`; do lconvert $file -of xlf -o ../../qt_xlf/`basename $file .ts`.xlf; done would put all of the ts in a directory at the same level as qt repository. Thats easy to answer: because I am too lazy to launch a browser, point to the right bookmark, and pick one by one the files. It's much more confortable just writting the commands in a script and execute it. At least, that's what I've been doing for kde for four years. Is there anyone else working on this? What do you think? What should I do now? A merge request? Or should I wait some feedback? Claudio
