It would be best if the original authors accept Qt Project CLA, or alternatively give you sufficient rights to contribute on their behalf. But of course it is always possible to retranslate the parts you do not receive legally binding approval to contribute. Some people have replied privately saying that they don't want to accept the CLA, but that they are giving their translations away under public domain or Creative Commons Zero 1.0 [1]. Is that okay? Is that okay? > yes. of course you are taking the legal risk (which is pretty much the only reason why they wouldn't accept the CLA, but still release the work under public domain. but then, i don't see what risk there could be in translations ...).
