[Localization] Contribution support request

Hello,

For my case, I find that it is easy to miss important info about the
process (because, you have to follow two pages (Gerrit and Qt
localization, and in the latter one, the Qt Creator section refers some
part of the Qt section). I just noticed that a link to the Qt Creator
translation README was added recently (in
https://wiki.qt.io/Qt_Localization), which is a good thing.
One of the most cryptic part, was this:

 > Note that unlike the rest of Qt, the translations still use a
forward-merging branch model, so you should target the oldest branch you
find still relevant first

First, it is in the "Instructions for Qt", so, not sure if I should
follow it, or not (I mean, when contributing to Qt Creator).
Additionally, since I was also following the Gerrit page, I first write
my push command to target refs/for/dev. I got an error. So, as I
fallback, I targeted master. I also find it cryptic because you have to
follow recent Qt Creator development to understand that this branch is
the (actually) 11.0. I mean, what would be the way to get this info? when:

- you did not receive the last release email, because you were not yet
in the mailing list

- on this page:
https://code.qt.io/cgit/qt-creator/qt-creator.git/about/share/qtcreator/translations/README.md
, it will display master (of course). But if you use the top down branch
selector, good luck to find 11.0 in the list, since it is ordering it
alphabetically.

- I looked at previous contribution on the file I was translating and it
seemed to target master

For beginners, the forward-merging branch model may not make that much
sense.

One way to fix that would be to find a command that would output branch
it would be. Not sure if it is possible, though.

(This is my point of view and my struggles during the process. Now that
I have made it through once, and thanks for the help you gave me during
my contribution, some part are clearer and make much sense. I hope this
can help to improve the documentation.)

Best regards,
