Now back to some less easy things, as of now it does not seem as I'd be able to attend (due to financial reasons, unfortunate, but this is life at the moment) and so I'd like to ask who can take ownership of this? This naturally means, replacing me as the person of contact with FOSDEM people, taking care of setup / teardown of the booth, finding someone with working laptop and perhaps some recent Android devices , and perhaps even showing off an iOS device running a Qt5 app, but also BB would be cool. (As a hash lesson learned, I'd like to show off to app developers and these are the platforms that matter the most). Who is in a position to do this? As we're in January already I'd like to get this rolling? Again, calling Digia as the main sponsor of Qt right now - can you guys help us have a presence in FOSDEM? Yes - it is not more of budget pertaining specific to this event, but planning for our whole roster of events Digia will be at for 2013. Our key issue atm is freeing up resources. We just need a bit of time to reshuffle and look into who is able to attend, if possible, versus other events etc. We are definitely looking into it - get back to you soon. /KB From michaelh at openismus.com Wed Jan 2 10:51:45 2013 From: michaelh at openismus.com (Michael Hasselmann) Date: Wed, 02 Jan 2013 10:51:45 +0100 Subject: [Marketing] FOSDEM Qt Stand manning In-Reply-To: <2127279623E71243B624ABEC3C224C053E9F25E7@IT-EXMB01-HKI.it.local> References: <50D7BAB7.9030004@4link.co.uk> <2127279623E71243B624ABEC3C224C053E9F1011@IT-EXMB01-HKI.it.local> <1357119178.3668.4.camel@brick.WAG160N> <2127279623E71243B624ABEC3C224C053E9F25E7@IT-EXMB01-HKI.it.local> Message-ID: <1357120305.3668.9.camel@brick.WAG160N> On Wed, 2013-01-02 at 09:41 +0000, Barrios Katherine wrote: > >Flights to Brussels from within Europe are usually cheap, as are hotels > in Brussels during the weekend. > > >Really, you could send someone to Brussels over that weekend, say from > Oslo, for less than 500 Euros. > > Yes - it is not more of budget pertaining specific to this event, but > planning for our whole roster of events Digia will be at for 2013. I have talked to some of you, and mostly you have backed the Idea, so that I am certain to have already SOME funding, but not enough. So I'm looking for people willing to participate in this as sponsors. The current plan: Probably in June, maybe in April, there might be a Qt5 Event in Germany for about 100 Attendees. I plan to have a training day in front of it, which will allow to offer training for Qt5/C++ to the audience from sponsors. I'm willing to organize this event through Meeting C++, but I need to have at least part of the financial risk covered throught sponsors, as I will not have time otherwise to organize this. please contact me, if you are interested in becoming a sponsor of this event! kind regards, Jens Weller From ash at 4link.co.uk Tue Jan 29 15:57:46 2013 From: ash at 4link.co.uk (Hashiq Nazir) Date: Tue, 29 Jan 2013 14:57:46 +0000 Subject: [Marketing] FOSDEM Qt Stand manning In-Reply-To: <2127279623E71243B624ABEC3C224C053E9F83D5@IT-EXMB01-HKI.it.local> References: <50D7BAB7.9030004@4link.co.uk> <2127279623E71243B624ABEC3C224C053E9F1011@IT-EXMB01-HKI.it.local> <1357119178.3668.4.camel@brick.WAG160N> <2127279623E71243B624ABEC3C224C053E9F25E7@IT-EXMB01-HKI.it.local> <1357120305.3668.9.camel@brick.WAG160N> <50E4317E.2060709@4link.co.uk>, <50EDC1B1.7040300@4link.co.uk> <2127279623E71243B624ABEC3C224C053E9F83D5@IT-EXMB01-HKI.it.local> Message-ID: <5107E36A.2080001@4link.co.uk> Dear All, Due to circumstances beyond my control I will not be attending FOSDEM.
