[PySide] sliding widgets into position

I think that's where I'm stuck now, as the lack of a layout causes my
sliding pages to overlap with the docks.
I shall look up how to create custom layouts but was wondering if I
could simply use a GridLayout adjusted so it has only three rows that
mimic the size of the main window's areas (centre area and top/bottom
docks) and only use the middle row to populate with widgets that
shouldn't overlap the docks.
I will have a go at both today, thanks.
