yes, if you ignore everything i wrote, this is, indeed, a very good idea.
unfortunately, it is a bit tough to automatically derive an include path
from a generic install target, because there is no tagging. of course
you could just add the tagging to the generic install rule, but once you
have the tagging, you generally don't have a reason to have the generic
stuff there, as it can be derived.
