We deliberately deactivated the signal slot editor in the integrated version 
of designer: The idea is to provide only the core features in the integration, 
thereby saving some screen space & simplifying the UI. I personally only use 
the integrated version for browsing & small fixes, and fire up the standalone 
one if I do more work ...
