Seconded, and I don't even do most of my editing on a Mac -- that's the 
behavior I get out of most other editors even on Linux and Windows.

I wouldn't even have a significant problem with it not going into 
line-select mode, because I can always drag my mouse along the right 
edge of the screen, but Qt Creator right now doesn't even keep the whole 
selected line selected when you start dragging; this is considerably 
problematic. (Try it: the line appears selected, then when you start 
moving the mouse the selection starts over at the point of the initial 
click.)
