The way split views work got completely refactored, but unfortunately it 
was too late to go into the rc1 (and probably 1.0). You may want to try 
compiling the 'master' branch in the git repository yourself, to see 
whether you like the new behaviour. You can actually access all 
documents from each view now, for example.
