For what it's worth, I agree with the original poster. Why stay on the  
edit view when you can't do anything on the edit view? Why not return  
to the welcome screen? It just seems to me to be the logical action -  
even if most people don't use it, those who don't wouldn't be  
inconvenienced in any way (you can still use the menus just as well),  
and those who do would be helped. So why not?
