Is it "normal" except, perhaps, in VB and NetBeans? Personally, I abhor
development tools which automatically create untouchable source code.
Although Qt Designer will easily and automatically create and name
button definitions in header files and button stubs in source files, I
prefer to write my own header definitions and source implementations and
use manually written Signals and Slots (using the "connect" command) to
connect the action to the execution. It is easily and quickly done. One
can also disconnect and reconnect actions on the fly using the
"connect" command, thus avoiding unwanted triggering. Signals and Slots
is very powerful and conceptually beautiful, especially when compared to
callback functions traditionally used in C development.
