Hi Friedemann,
The plugin dialog you mentioned told me that my plugin is built against an unsupported Qt version
(4.6.0) - duh, should have guessed that from the start. I'm going to build QtCreator from source
using my current Qt installation, that should solve the issue.

Hi Thomas,
it should be sufficient to have the Qt Designer plugins in the Qt plugin directories (with the
exception of Qt's bin), provided their build key matches that of Qt Creator.
Once it has loaded Designer, Qt Creator has a menu entry Tools/FormEditor/Plugins which brings up
the Qt Designer plugin dialog. The dialog shows failed plugins and errors.
