Is it not possible to define the keypad in a way that Shit+End on the
numeric keypad means: select until end of line.
Even so with Shift+PgUp etc.
 
I think that when 'Num lock' is off, End, Home, PgUp, etc should react
the same as the separate End, Home etc keys. 
As in most editors.
