No python support is planned from our side atm.

Well, they might... but on the other hand that is a big chance for  
you, because I'm pretty sure that implementing support for other  
languages would lead to the desire to adapt some of the interfaces.
So at the moment you'd have better chances to get interface changes  
in :)
