Ubuntu Karmic released with Qt Creator 1.2.1 and won't upgrade it to 
1.3.0, since that'd be something for Lucid. I'm not aware of any more up 
to date repositories that you could enable at the moment.

However, the Qt SDK is also released for Linux in the form of an 
installer, which you can use to install Qt 4.6 RC and Qt Creator 1.3.0 
RC on your system for development purposes.
