Turned out that the gdb shipped with 10.6 behaves differently
than the one shipped with 10.5... (what a surprise...)

I checked in a change that fixed the problem locally. I should 
show up in the public repo after the next synchronzation.
Would be nice if you could verify that it works for you, too.
