I assume you took a package from your distribution. If so, which one?

qtcreator.bin is not supposed to be called directly, because the  
wrapper script needs to set up private libraries and pathes. If your  
distribution manages to do without the script (and they normally do,  
since they control the environment), they should rename qtcreator.bin  
to qtcreator.
