There's a difference between syntax highlighting coming out of a couple
of regular expressions and syntax highlighting coming out of a C++
parser.

vim.cpp hardcodes things as well:

syn keyword cppStatement new delete this friend using
syn keyword cppAccess public protected private
syn keyword cppType inline virtual explicit export bool wchar_t

etc.

It does something completely different, even if it looks pretty similar
in most cases.
