that's because it is broken in all released qt versions. use the 4.6
branch from git or wait for the 4.6.1 release.

anyway, you don't want to do that anyway. you don't want a phrase book,
but proper translation memory and possibly a terminology database.

inspiration can be probably found in kde's lokalize (but don't copy
code, as it would be illegal for us to incorporate it) and in the many
proprietary translation tools on the market. and at http://www.lisa.org/
