[Qt-creator] Custom Build Step Problem

This question has been previously

this mail list, but without any satisfying answer.

I cant find a way to provide a relative path to the build executable in Qt
Creator.
Using variables is rejected by Qt Creator.
The only way is to enter an absolute path, which is a problem in a
collective project.

I'm not sure if I need to open a bug ticket for Qt Creator, or if I have to
search more.
Tested version: 1.3.1
