Just to to wrap it up: extensive recompilation of the program got it
working somehow. It still sometimes does not work and especially almost
never for the first breakpoint, later breakpoints or the second time round
miraculously bring the debugging-helpers to live. But I am looking
forward to the python enabled release version of qt-creator.
