[Qt-creator] Generic project dependencies

I'd really love to be able to set dependencies between generic makefile
projects. I know that this functionality exists in sessions, but they are
not embeddable into a source tree for managing branches or sharing with
others. I assume that Qt projects handle this within their own special
project files. It seems like the now-unused <project>.creator file could
have a [Dependencies] section that allowed relative paths to other project
files. I'd be perfectly happy with that, assuming that the dependencies were
operative for building, and that there would be some simple prompt like
"This project has dependencies on other projects. Would you like to open
them now?".
