One must remember we are all not native English speakers and nuances are 
often difficult even for them in a written medium.

In defense of Geronimo I think he makes a few valid points, the signal 
to noise ratio is not *that* bad.  He is criticizing some things, but is 
constructive about it, suggesting solutions.  And he has not been at all 
touchy about the some of the rebuttals which have not been so kind.  
Instead he has always been apologizing.

I also admire his enthusiasm, it is so much easier to be a silent lurker.
