So better not to have this feature at all than having non-ideal solution 
that can be fixed/improved/replaced later?

Unfortunately, I don't have time to rewrite my patch the way you 
suggested. I did it as a part of my job and decided to share it with 
community. This approach works well for my team so my employer won't 
invest more of my time into this. And my spare time, being a father of 
three month old child, is fairly limited nowadays. So I'm not willing to 
spend a lot of time on this, sorry.
