a) The $$(QTC_SOURCE) requires you to set an *environment* variable QTC_SOURCE.
b) $$QTC_SOURCE is the syntax for a *qmake* variable (that you e.g. pass as parameter to qmake)
That’s the subtle difference between
a) QTC_SOURCE=/foo/bar qmake -r
and
b) qmake -r QTC_SOURCE=/foo/bar
;)
I suppose the templates could be changed to allow either environment variables or qmake variables
