[Qt-interest] Adding support for a new video format

Hi, I'm looking for a little advice.

I have a large set of video clips that are in an unusual format.  The
format supports having high dynamic range video, but was developed for a
university/government project.  I know how to read the files, but  I
would like to be able to play these videos in a Phonon widget in my
application.  That means that I need to figure out where to add support
for the new format.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to begin looking within the Phonon
internals to learn how to add support for a new video format?
