Thanks, Anthony ... I didn't realize they had their own list! Now I also 
found answers to this question and the one about signals + slots (they 
apparently disabled it for the integrated version of QtDesigner).

As to column selection, I believe that there is a conflict with the 
window manager on Ubuntu 7.04 ... but it should work, in principle.
