[Qt-interest] Qt4.4 - While any window is docked, browsing MenuBar and menu items is very slow

Thanks for you reply. 

Well, Browsing may not be the right word here. I would rather say,
reaction time of menu and menubars for mouse movement. When I move the
mouse over any menu item, it gets highlighted after long time and they
seem to respond to mouse clicks after a long time. 

We are currently performing tests on windows. We use Microsoft visual
studio "cl" compiler.

At this point of time I am not sure if the problem arose from porting or
it is something to do with Qt4.x .. 

I suspect that the application is spending time in doing something else
( like painting/or may be painting repeatedly or unnecessarily ) and
hence responds to mouse movements after long time. In this case, how to
track the application threads to find out if they are doing something
else unnecessarily ? 

And as I told in my previous message, the mouse movement response is
normal when all the child application widgets are undocked or closed.

I request for any pointers or debugging methods to troubleshoot such
problems.

What do you mean under "browsing"?
If it the speed menu is shown, give more details about your system and
compiler.

We have recently ported our application from Qt3.3 to Qt4.4.

We seem to find that browsing MenuBar and MenuItems is too slow
especially if the application has any docked windows. But the browsing
becomes normal ( ie reaction of menu bar and menu items is synchronous
to mouse movement ) when the docked window is undocked or closed.

Request anyone to suggest the places to look for, to figure out the
problem Or is there any known issue associated to porting from Qt3.3 to
Qt4.4 specific to this topic.
