[Qt-interest] Possible to have QToolTip shown without mouse over

Is it possible to trigger a tool tip of a widget to be displayed without 
the mouse being over the area around the widget?  I have been looking 
for an appropriate slot, but I can't seem to find one. 
I want to do something similar to the little 'balloons' in the bottom 
right corner of the screen in Windows when you have updates to install 
(for example).
